How to Connect Family Members from Your File

You are researching your family and come across an individual you think is related but are not sure where they fit in your family at that moment.

You take the time to add them to your family file knowing at some point you will be able to figure that out.

Time passes and you figure out they belong to one of the families on your father's side. How do you add them to that family?

Make a note of the RIN number of the individual you are adding to a family. Bring the family up in the "Family View", click "Add" and "Child" you get the following:

As you can see there is a button that can be clicked to take you to locating that individual from within your file of family names.

Clicking the button marked "Search for Existing Child" brings up the following screen:

Enter the RIN number of the individual and click on "OK" and the child is now added to that family.

That is how easy it is to add a family member that is already in your family database. This same procedure is done for adding parent or spouse that are already located in your family file.

Thanks for joining us and learning about adding family members already in your files to the right families!
